Our Story
Why Everyday Independence Exists
Everyday Independence started with something personal.
Our founder grew up alongside her brother, who has cerebral palsy. Over the years, her family experienced firsthand how complicated it could be to find the right support for him — especially when what he needed wasn't medical care, but simply a trusted, reliable person who could help him live his everyday life.
Someone who could be there when family wasn't available.
Someone he could feel comfortable with.
And, just as importantly, someone who could help him get out into the community — go to the gym, grab lunch, see a movie, shop, run errands, spend time with friends, or simply do the everyday things he wanted to do.
Finding that kind of support was often much harder than it should have been.
The process could feel fragmented and complicated. And finding someone who was not only qualified, but also genuinely compatible and trustworthy, was another challenge entirely.
Why is something so important so difficult to arrange?
Everyday Independence was created to build the kind of solution we wished had been easier to find for our own family.
We believe support should fit into someone's life — not the other way around.
That means looking beyond a schedule or a list of tasks. It means understanding the person: their routines, interests, personality, preferences, goals and the things they actually enjoy doing.
Our goal is to make it easier for individuals and families to find dependable support professionals who can help make everyday life more accessible, connected and independent — both at home and out in the community.
Because sometimes independence doesn't mean doing everything alone.
Sometimes it means having the right person there so you can do more.
Everyday Independence was built for families like ours.
